Buska Review

Buska monitors 30-plus social platforms for buying-intent signals and scores the matches into sales-ready leads for sales, marketing, and agency teams.

Buska is a social listening platform built for lead generation rather than brand monitoring: it watches 30+ platforms for buying intent, competitor frustration, or pain points, then scores those mentions so a sales or agency team can prioritize outreach while interest is fresh. This review covers what's in each plan, where the caps bite, and what we could and couldn't verify independently.

Verdict at a glance

What kind of tool is Buska?

Buska sits in the intent-data category alongside tools like Common Room and Warmly, but its emphasis is specifically social platforms: Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Reddit, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Hacker News, Medium, Quora, and review sites like G2 and Trustpilot. Instead of buying a static list, the pitch is to catch people while they're already talking about a problem your product solves, then route that mention into your CRM or sequencer before a competitor does.

The AI scoring is the mechanism that makes this usable at volume: without it, monitoring 30+ sources for keyword matches would produce more noise than signal. Buska claims to classify mentions into five buying-signal types (active demand, competitor mentions, pain signals, questions, and direct brand mentions) and rank them against your ICP profile.

How it works

You set up ICP profiles and keywords, and Buska's crawlers watch the configured sources on a cadence tied to your plan (daily on Starter, every 3 hours on Growth, hourly on Scale). Matching mentions land in a scored queue, where Reply Studio can draft a contextual response, or the mention can be pushed via webhook, API, or a native integration into HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Lemlist, Apollo, or Instantly, with Slack/Discord/Teams notifications for whoever owns follow-up.

Scale$2493033+Hourly250 searches/mo, 1,000 enrichments/mo, 2,500 API requests/mo, unlimited team members

Where the real cost hides: Growth is the plan most cold-outreach teams will actually need, since Starter skips Prospect Finder, enrichment, and AI replies entirely. But Growth's 20 searches and 100 enrichments per month run out fast for an agency working several client accounts; the next tier is a $150/month jump to Scale. Separately, Buska sells standalone API credit packs (Developer: $50 for 1,000 credits; Production: $500 for 50,000; Business: $3,000 for 500,000) for raw data extraction — a distinct product from the API allowance bundled into each subscription, easy to conflate when budgeting. Annual billing saves roughly 17%, about two free months.

What we could and couldn't verify

We pulled pricing, plan limits, and feature claims directly from Buska's live site and pricing page, so those figures are current as of this writing. What we could not find is independent, third-party review data: G2 and Trustpilot pages for Buska were not accessible at review time, and no substantive Reddit or forum threads about hands-on experience with the product turned up. Buska's site claims 2,000+ customers, but that's a vendor claim, not a verified figure. If you're evaluating Buska, the 7-day free trial is the most reliable way to judge signal quality and false-positive rate against your own ICP, since no outside source currently fills that gap.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Genuinely broad source coverage (30+ platforms) for a single tool, including review sites most competitors skip
  • Five-way signal classification is more granular than basic keyword alerting
  • Native integrations into common CRMs and cold-outreach sequencers (Lemlist, Apollo, Instantly) rather than export-only
  • 7-day free trial with no card required lowers the cost of testing signal quality firsthand
  • Reply Studio adds a drafting step most social-listening tools leave out entirely

Cons

  • No independently verifiable review data (G2/Trustpilot/Reddit) at time of writing, so sentiment can't be confirmed either way
  • Prospect Finder and enrichment caps on Growth are tight for agency-scale use; the next tier is a large price jump
  • Two separate API/credit systems (subscription allowance vs. pay-as-you-go credit packs) invite billing confusion
  • Starter plan excludes the features (AI replies, enrichment, Prospect Finder) that make the intent data actionable

Buska alternatives

Buska competes in the social-listening-for-leads niche rather than the inbox-infrastructure or sequencing space, so the comparison set here is other intent-signal and social-listening tools, not mailbox providers:

  • Common Room — broader community and product-usage intent signals, positioned more toward developer-tool and PLG companies
  • Warmly — combines website-visitor intent with some social signals, geared toward warm-lead alerting for sales teams
  • Clay — general-purpose data enrichment and workflow automation; less focused on real-time social monitoring, more on building custom lead-scoring pipelines
  • BillyBuzz — social listening focused on Reddit, X, and forum conversations for finding relevant discussions to join

If your core need is inbox infrastructure or sequencing to act on the leads Buska surfaces, that's a separate purchase — Buska itself doesn't provision mailboxes or send campaigns.

Who should use Buska — and who shouldn't

Good fit: agencies and SaaS growth teams that already have a defined ICP and want a live feed of people actively discussing relevant problems, competitors, or your brand across social platforms; teams willing to spend the trial week tuning signal keywords before judging results.

Poor fit: teams expecting a large, static prospect database (Buska surfaces mentions, it isn't primarily a contact database); solo users on tight budgets who'd hit Growth's search and enrichment caps immediately; anyone who needs verified third-party proof of ROI before buying, since that evidence doesn't yet exist publicly for this tool.
