Show Review

Show by Animaker pairs ad-free video hosting and interactive video with AI-assisted email campaigns, lead capture, and viewer-level engagement analytics.

Show, built by the team behind Animaker, sells two things in one subscription: a video hosting and interactivity layer, and an email engine that carries those videos into the inbox. This review covers what is verifiable from the vendor's own materials, the pricing math including the overage rates most buyers miss, and where the public evidence runs out.

Verdict at a glance

Best forMarketing teams that already produce video and want hosting, lead capture, and lifecycle email under one bill
Starting priceFree tier available; paid plans start at $29/month (Starter)
Real costPro at $89/month covers 10,000 contacts; overages run $15 per extra 1,000, so a 25,000-contact list is roughly $314/month
Setup speedSelf-serve signup on the free tier; enterprise goes through a demo call
Standout featureInteractive video tied directly to email automation and viewer-level analytics
Biggest caveatAlmost no independent review evidence, and steep contact overage pricing
Third-party ratingNot meaningfully established — see the verification section below

What Show actually is

Most tools here pick a side: Wistia and Vidyard own video hosting, Mailchimp and Customer.io own email. Show argues the two belong together — if you host the video you know who watched and how far they got, and that behavior should trigger the next email rather than get exported elsewhere.

The video side is a real hosting product, not an embed wrapper: ad-free playback on your own domain, a player the vendor says scales from 480p to 8K, a CMS for organizing libraries, and automatic captions and metadata for search visibility. Interactivity is where it gets opinionated — in-player CTAs, email turnstiles that gate a video behind a form, plus quizzes, polls, and Q&A. The email side is advertised as AI-assisted: generated subject lines, drip sequences, in-app notifications, and integrations for HubSpot, Salesforce, Marketo, and Intercom.

One caveat up front: this is permission-based marketing email, not cold outreach infrastructure. Sends run through a shared pool, with a dedicated IP only on Enterprise.

How it works in practice

You upload video to the CMS, embed it on a landing page or in an email, and attach an interactive element. Viewer behavior flows into what the vendor calls a video CRM — an engagement profile per contact covering watch depth, heatmaps, region, and clicks — and those signals feed the email automation, so someone who watched most of a demo gets a different follow-up than someone who bounced early. AI credits are consumed by the generative features, not by sending, and Free and Starter share the same 1,000-credit allowance: the first paid tier buys volume, not extra AI.

Show pricing (2026)

PlanMonthlyEmail sendsContactsVideo bandwidth
Free$01001005GB
Starter$295,0005,000200GB
Pro$8950,00010,000500GB
EnterpriseCustom150,00050,0001TB

Annual billing on Starter is $290 — two months free. The add-on rates are where the real budget lives:

  • Contacts: $15 per additional 1,000
  • Email sends: $10 per additional 1,000
  • Video bandwidth: $200 per additional 1TB
  • AI credits: $10 per additional 1,000

Pro includes 10,000 contacts but 50,000 sends — five emails per contact monthly, fine for lifecycle email, tight for a weekly newsletter. Grow to 25,000 contacts on Pro and the extra 15,000 adds $225 to the $89 base, putting you at $314 a month for a list size dedicated email platforms serve for less. Contact count, not send volume, moves your bill. Bandwidth is the second trap: 500GB sounds generous until a 100MB video reaches 5,000 viewers and consumes it in one campaign.

What we could and couldn't verify

Pricing, plan limits, add-on rates, and the feature list above come from Show's own site, fetched fresh. Those are solid.

Sentiment is a different story, and we won't pretend otherwise: no meaningful body of independent reviews exists for this product. Product Hunt shows a perfect average across just two reviews, a sample too small to carry diagnostic value. G2 blocks automated access and we do not scrape it. We found no substantive Reddit threads, no Trustpilot presence worth citing, and no third-party deliverability testing.

That absence is itself information. It doesn't mean the product is bad — Animaker is an established company and Show is a newer line — but you'd be buying without the safety net of other people's documented experience. Use the free tier seriously and test deliverability with your own seed list. The engagement statistics on the homepage are marketing claims, not audited results.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Combines video hosting and email automation rather than bolting one onto the other
  • Interactive video (turnstiles, in-player CTAs, quizzes) is a real lead capture mechanism
  • Ad-free hosting on your own domain with viewer-level analytics and heatmaps
  • A functional free tier lets you evaluate before paying

Cons

  • Effectively no independent review evidence to check vendor claims against
  • Contact overages at $15 per 1,000 escalate quickly on the Pro plan
  • Dedicated sending IP only on Enterprise
  • AI credit allowance does not increase between Free and Starter
  • Not suitable for cold outreach — this is opt-in marketing email

Show alternatives

  • Wistia — the established video hosting choice with strong analytics; pricier, far more track record.
  • Vidyard — video for sales teams: per-rep recording and CRM logging rather than campaign-scale hosting.
  • Customer.io — behavior-triggered lifecycle email with deeper segmentation, but bring your own video host.
  • Klaviyo — for e-commerce, its data model and revenue attribution outclass a generalist platform.
  • Loom — asynchronous personal video, cheaper and simpler, with no marketing automation layer.
  • Slicey — managed, done-for-you Google and Microsoft inboxes (Microsoft from $0.49 per inbox) with a self-serve dashboard, delivered pre-warmed with deliverability monitoring and automatic domain swaps. Slicey customers also get Outfalcon, a free bundled sequencer with unlimited sending.

That last entry sits at a different layer, listed for readers who arrive looking for outbound capacity: Show sends marketing email to lists you own, while cold outreach needs separate sending infrastructure.

Who should use Show — and who shouldn't

Good fit: marketing teams already producing video who pay separately for hosting and email; SaaS companies running onboarding sequences where watch depth should drive the next message; course and training providers wanting gated video plus nurture in one system; lists under 10,000 contacts.

Poor fit: cold outreach teams, who need dedicated inboxes and domains rather than a shared marketing sender; large lists, where overage pricing turns punitive; e-commerce needing deep revenue attribution; buyers who require an established public review record.
