Verifalia Review

Verifalia is a long-running email verification service offering batch list cleaning, a real-time API, and credit packs alongside daily-allowance plans.

Verifalia sells email verification: batch cleaning for lists you already have, plus a real-time API and form widget that block bad addresses before they enter your database. It is run by Cobisi Research, an Italian company operating since 2005, which makes it one of the older names in a category full of two-year-old startups. This review covers the current pricing structure, which has an unusual wrinkle worth understanding before you buy, and is honest about how little independent user feedback exists.

What Verifalia does

The service checks whether an address can actually receive mail, and tells you why when it cannot. Every address comes back classified as Deliverable, Undeliverable, Risky, or Unknown, backed by more than forty specific status codes, so you can decide for yourself whether to keep role accounts, catch-all domains, or free-provider addresses rather than accepting a vendor's binary verdict. It also flags disposable addresses, detects likely spam traps, suggests corrections for obvious typos, and deduplicates for free.

Two delivery modes exist. Batch cleaning accepts plain text, CSV, TSV, and Excel files up to 100MB, which the vendor puts at roughly 72 million addresses per list. Real-time checking runs through a REST API with open-source SDKs for .NET, Java, JavaScript, PHP, Ruby, and Go, or through an embeddable widget that validates addresses in a signup form. The widget supports Cloudflare Turnstile, reCAPTCHA, and hCaptcha, which matters more than it sounds: a public form calling a metered API is an invitation for bots to burn your credits.

Data is processed in German data centers, with retention configurable from five minutes to thirty days — a genuine differentiator for EU teams against US-hosted competitors.

How the credit system works

One credit equals one standard verification: a single validation pass with a five-second graylisting allowance. High quality makes three passes over fifty seconds and costs 2 credits. Extreme quality makes nine passes over two minutes and costs 4 credits. The extra passes exist for addresses with temporary conditions — a mailbox over quota, a slow or tarpitting mail exchanger — that a single pass returns as Unknown. If you run a list at High quality to cut down Unknowns, your effective price per address doubles. Extreme quadruples it.

Verifalia pricing (2026)

Credit packs are the pay-as-you-go option, and they never expire:

CreditsPricePer address
1,000$7.90$0.0079
10,000$49.90$0.0050
100,000$389$0.0039
1,000,000$1,490$0.0015
10,000,000$4,890$0.00049

The homepage advertises validations from $0.00049 each. That figure is real, but it is the unit rate on the ten-million-credit pack — a $4,890 up-front purchase. Anyone buying at a realistic small-business volume pays somewhere between $0.004 and $0.008.

Subscription plans work differently, and this is the part to read twice. Plans grant a daily credit allowance that resets and expires every night:

PlanMonthlyDaily creditsEffective per address if fully used
Free$025
Starter$9.90250~$0.0013
Professional$53.901,250~$0.0014
Enterprise$218.906,250~$0.0012
Ultimate$548.9025,000~$0.0007

Quarterly billing saves 5%, annual saves 10%. Verifications beyond the daily allowance draw on purchased credit packs.

The practical consequence: subscriptions are excellent value for steady API traffic and terrible value for lumpy batch work. A Starter subscriber who verifies 250 addresses every single day pays about a sixth of the pack rate. That same subscriber with a one-time 20,000-address list cannot process it on the plan at all without waiting eighty days — they will be buying a credit pack on top. Match the billing model to your usage pattern, not to the headline price.

What we could and couldn't verify

All pricing, credit multipliers, and feature details above were pulled from Verifalia's live pricing data in July 2026, so they should be current.

What we could not find is independent user sentiment. Verifalia has no reviews on SourceForge, no listing we could confirm on Capterra, and no meaningful public discussion thread we were able to surface. In plain terms: there is no third-party review base for this product that we can point you to, and we are not going to invent one or repeat a rating we did not see. That is unusual for a company claiming twenty years of operation and 100,000 customers, though less surprising for a developer tool sold through API documentation rather than software marketplaces.

Treat the vendor's own claims — 99% accuracy, the >99.9% uptime commitment on paid tiers, the named enterprise logos — as marketing until you test them. The free tier gives you 25 verifications a day, enough to run a control list of addresses whose real status you already know. Do that before committing to a pack.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Credit packs never expire, so occasional cleaners aren't forced onto a subscription
  • Genuinely granular results: 40+ status codes instead of a pass/fail flag
  • Selectable verification depth lets you pay more only for the addresses that need it
  • Real SDKs in six languages, not just a REST endpoint and a curl example
  • EU data residency with configurable retention as short as five minutes
  • A usable free tier for accuracy testing before you spend anything

Cons

  • Daily-expiring plan credits are a poor fit for one-time list cleaning, and the structure is easy to misread
  • The advertised sub-$0.0005 rate requires a nearly $5,000 purchase
  • High and Extreme quality levels silently double or quadruple your cost per address
  • No independent review base to sanity-check accuracy claims against
  • Small-volume pack pricing is not competitive with the cheapest bulk verifiers

Verifalia alternatives

  • ZeroBounce — the most heavily marketed option, with scoring and activity data layered on top of verification; more expensive per address and US-hosted.
  • NeverBounce — long-established bulk verifier, now part of ZoomInfo; strong batch tooling, less developer-focused than Verifalia.
  • MillionVerifier — competes almost purely on price for bulk list cleaning, with credits that also don't expire; thinner API story.
  • Bouncer — EU-based like Verifalia, with a clean interface and explicit GDPR positioning; a direct comparison if data residency is the deciding factor.
  • Kickbox — developer-oriented with a reputation-focused approach and a sendability score; comparable API quality, different classification philosophy.
  • Clearout — mid-market bulk and real-time verification, frequently the cheapest of the API-first group at moderate volumes.

Who should use Verifalia — and who shouldn't

Good fit: developers embedding verification into a signup flow or CRM, where steady daily volume makes the subscription math work; European teams that need processing to stay inside the EU; anyone who wants to inspect raw status codes and build their own keep/drop logic rather than trusting a vendor's Deliverable label.

Poor fit: anyone with a single large list to clean once — buy a credit pack from whoever is cheapest at that volume, since the subscription plans won't help you; buyers who need corroborated third-party accuracy benchmarks, as none are publicly available here; teams verifying millions of addresses monthly on the tightest budget, where dedicated bulk-price competitors undercut the pack rates.
